Matte/Glossy
offers the contemporary prototype of a self-made musician, writing and producing in her bedroom. Behind Matte/Glossy is Violeta, a former punk singer (Las Cruces/Primer Premio). She creates alien pop songs, short and unpredictable, in which all the protagonism is carried by the lyricism of her voice, surrounded by layers of harmonies and dissonances.
In Autumn 2018 she released First Recordings under the DIY Viennese label Yakamoz, a music video for Tie me up and has played in venues in Spain, Austria, Czech Republic and Italy. Violeta is inspired by women who write and perform with great intensity such as Aldous Harding, Weyes Blood, Soho Rezanejad or Mitski
